Security Level 1 - Assignment Criteria:

No Murder I or II; Sex offense, Kidnap/Abduction, Escape History. No Disruptive Behavior for at least past 24 months.

Special Purpose Institution - It is a reception and classification facility. Its role is to intake offenders from the local jails and process them into the Department. It houses inmates classified to multiple levels of security.

Directions From Richmond:
Take I-95 South to Petersburg and exit onto I-85 South. Travel to the Lawrenceville-Alberta Exit #28. Turn left onto U.S. Route 1 and travel east to State Route 46. Turn left on State Route 46 and travel south to Lawrenceville. At the traffic signal turn left onto U.S. Route 58 East and proceed to Planters Road. Turn left onto Planters Road and travel approximately 1 mile where you will see Brunswick Correctional Center on the left.
