Security Level 2 - Assignment Criteria:
For Initial Assignment ONLY: No Escape History within past 5 years. Single Life sentences must have reached their Parole Eligibility Date (PED). No disruptive behavior for at least past 24 months prior to consideration for a transfer to any less-secure facility

Specifications:
Special Purpose Institution - It is a reception and classification facility. Its role is to intake offenders from the local jails and process them into the Department. It houses inmates classified to multiple levels of security.

Directions From Richmond:
Take Route 360 East from Tappahannock through Warsaw five miles to Haynesville at State Route 619. Turn left on State Route 619 for one-half mile to State Route 650. Turn left on State Route 650 for three-quarters of a mile to Haynesville Correctional Center.
