DOC Appoints New Wardens at Greensville Correctional Center and Deerfield Correctional Center

RICHMOND – Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) Director Gene Johnson announced today the appointment of Anthony M. Parker as a Warden of Greensville Correctional Center in Greensville County and David Everett as Warden of Deerfield Correctional Center in Southampton County, effective June 10, 2003.

Anthony M. Parker began his career as a Corrections Officer at Southampton Reception Center in 1977. During his tenure with the DOC, his assignments have included Chief of Security at Greensville Correctional Center and Assistant Warden at Coffeewood Correctional Center. Most recently Parker has been the Records Manager at Coffeewood Correctional Center. Parker received a Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia State University.

Parker replaces Charlie Davis who assumed the position of Warden at Mecklenburg Correctional Center.

David B. Everett began his career with the DOC as a Corrections Officer at Southampton Correctional Center in 1979 after serving in the US Army. During his 23 years with the DOC, he has served in numerous capacities including the position of Chief of Security at Southampton Correctional Center and Assistant Warden at Greensville Correctional Center. Everett has been Assistant Warden at Sussex II State Prison since it opened in August 1998. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Leo College.

Everett replaces James V. Beale who assumed the position of Warden at Southampton Correctional Center.

“It is my pleasure to announce these promotions,” said Director Johnson. “Anthony Parker and David Everett have proven themselves very capable. I know they will both bring to their positions the leadership and professionalism expected of them.”
