District #21 Probation and Parole Staff Assist at the Thurman Brisben Homeless Center
FREDERICKSBURG - On Thursday, January 6, 2011 District #21 Probation and Parole staff served dinner to 90 people sheltered at the Thurman Brisben Homeless Shelter in Fredericksburg.
This local homeless shelter has been servicing the Fredericksburg region for numerous years; in fact, many probationers and parolees end up at this shelter because they have no place to go. Chief Hodges and District staff wanted to thank the shelter for its work and to celebrate his officers' efforts to help keep the community safe.
Every day, Probation and Parole Officers across this state are doing their best to ensure that all of our communities are safe. Director Harold Clarke stated that the dinner is an example of a Probation Office modeling good behavior for former offenders and the community. He, along with Secretary of Public Safety Marla Graff Decker and Prisoner Re-Entry Coordinator Banci Tewolde assisted District staff with serving the meal.
