SDTP – Anger Management – SAMHSA

Cognitive Program
  • Description

Substance abuse often coexists with anger and violence. Cognitive behavioral treatments intertwined with the principles of social theory are used. These include cognitive interventions, communication skill interventions; and relaxation interventions. Participants develop individual anger control plans using the above interventions. The more techniques and interventions the participant has on their control plan, the better equipped s/he will be to manage their anger.
