  The Virginia Department of Corrections offers special programs called Cognitive Therapeutic Communities. These are strong, long-term treatment programs inside the prison for people who need help with substance use problems.

  6 to 12 months

  Eligibility

  You need a referral from a counselor and must show you need treatment for substance use.
