Description
This program is designed for participants with opioid use disorders. The MAT Phase I program provides cognitive-behavioral treatment, combined with medication assisted treatment at the point of release that continues after release through on-going referrals, supportive counseling and probation supervision.

Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the medically assisted treatment component, participants must: 1) be returning to the specific home areas of Norfolk, Richmond and Tazewell; 2) volunteer for MATRI; 3) be screened as mentally and physically suitable; and 4) successfully participate in on-going substance abuse counseling and other needed programming.
